I’m Amilton, a Brazilian guide living in Las Vegas for 4 years. I’ve done the Las Vegas City Tour more times than I can count — probably 600+ groups in the last two years. The 4-hour City Tour is the single best first-day experience in Vegas, and in this guide I’ll walk you through exactly what it covers, how much it costs in 2026, and how to pick the right version for your trip.
This is the tour I recommend to 90% of my clients on their first visit. It hits the iconic spots without exhausting you, it gives your brain a map of the city so the rest of the trip makes sense, and — honestly — the hotels are so huge from the outside that you need a guide driving slowly past each one to actually process them.
Las Vegas City Tour prices in 2026
Prices below are the 2026 market averages. They fluctuate with season (spring and fall are peak), day of the week, and whether you book private or joining a group. Children under 5 are usually free; 6-11 pay half. All per person unless noted.
| Tour Type | Duration | Group Size | Price (US$) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private City Tour (all-inclusive) | 4h | Up to 6 people | 350 (total, not per person) |
| Group City Tour (shared van) | 4h | 10-14 people | 89 / person |
| Night Tour — neon lights | 3h | 10-14 people | 120 / person |
| Full Day Private: City + Red Rock | 8h | Up to 6 people | 499 (total) |
| Half Day Private: City + Seven Magic Mountains | 5h | Up to 6 people | 420 (total) |
Pro tip: if you’re 3 or more people, private is almost always cheaper per head than group — and you don’t waste time waiting at 4 hotels to pick up strangers. My private City Tour page has fixed pricing in Brazilian Reais with no FX surprises.
What the 4-hour itinerary actually covers
Every operator sells “City Tour” but the route changes. The standard 4-hour version I run covers:
Stop 1 — Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign (15 min). The classic photo spot on South Las Vegas Blvd. We park in the dedicated lot (free) and you get your picture with the sign, shot from the angle that makes it look iconic. Early morning or golden hour is ideal.
Stop 2 — South Strip drive-through. Slow-roll past Mandalay Bay, Luxor (the black pyramid), Excalibur, MGM Grand, and New York-New York. I point out which pools are worth the day pass, which buffets are still open after the post-Covid closures, and which hotels are overpriced for what they offer.
Stop 3 — Bellagio Fountains (20 min). We time the walk to catch the fountain show. Inside the Bellagio, I’ll show you the conservatory (free, rotates themes 5x per year) and the chocolate fountain.
Stop 4 — Caesars Palace + The Forum Shops. We park and walk. The Forum Shops are the most photogenic mall in the US. I’ll show you the Fall of Atlantis statue show (free, every hour).
Stop 5 — Venetian gondolas + Sphere view. From the Venetian parking, you get the best ground-level view of the Sphere. If you want to add the indoor gondola ride (US$ 42/person), we’ll pause. Otherwise, photos and coffee at St. Mark’s Square.
Stop 6 — Fremont Street (Downtown Old Vegas). Different vibe from the Strip — classic neon, street performers, zipline overhead. The Viva Vision canopy show runs every hour after dark. I’ll walk you past Binion’s, the Golden Nugget, and the 18th-floor shark tank viewpoint (free).
Stop 7 — Neon Museum (exterior viewing). We drive past the boneyard where the old Strip signs go to retire. Worth booking separately if you’re a design nerd (US$ 25).
Private vs Group: which one should you pick?
Private makes sense if: you’re a family or couple, you have kids or elderly parents, you want to customize the route (swap Fremont for Seven Magic Mountains, for example), or you want the guide to stop whenever you want to take photos.
Group is fine if: you’re a solo traveler, you don’t mind being on someone else’s schedule, and saving US$ 100+ per person matters more than flexibility.
My advice: if your group is 3 or more, private is both cheaper and better. The math is simple — US$ 89 × 4 people = US$ 356 for group vs US$ 350 total for private.
Best time of day
Morning tours (8am-12pm) are calmer, cooler, and you see the Strip with natural light. Better for photos of architecture.
Evening tours (5pm-9pm) give you the transition from day to night — Bellagio fountains at sunset, then Fremont Street with full neon. Worth the heat in exchange for the magic.
Night-only tours (8pm-11pm) skip the daylight spots but hit all the illuminated icons. Best if you arrive late in the day and need something active before dinner.
What to bring
Comfortable walking shoes (you’ll do 3-5 km of light walking). Water bottle — we refill at the van. Phone charger (you’ll drain the battery on photos). Sunglasses, sunscreen in summer. A light jacket in winter (Vegas gets 45°F / 7°C at night in January).
Skip: umbrellas (rarely rains), formal clothes, heavy bags. Everything stays in the van between stops.
Can you combine with other attractions?
Yes — and that’s where the private tour shines. Common combos I run:
- City Tour + Red Rock Canyon (8h, US$ 499). Great if you want scenery and don’t mind a full day.
- City Tour + Hoover Dam (6h). Dam visit is 1.5h, fits perfectly as a morning add-on.
- City Tour + Helicopter Strip flight (5h). The 15-min helicopter ride at the end makes for an unforgettable close.
- City Tour + Sphere show. We drop you at the Venetian entrance 30 min before the show.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s included in the tour?
Guide in English and Portuguese, air-conditioned vehicle, photo stops, parking at all 7 locations, water bottles. Food and entrance fees (if any) are separate.
Is the guide bilingual Portuguese/English?
Yes. I run tours in both languages — most of my clients are Brazilian families, but I also take US and European guests. Tour is fully bilingual on request.
Can we customize the itinerary?
Private tours, yes — 100%. Swap stops, add stops, skip stops. Group tours are fixed route.
What’s the best time of day?
Morning for photos and cooler temperatures; evening for atmosphere. If you only take one tour, evening-to-night is the most memorable.
Are tips included?
No. Tipping the guide is customary in the US (15-20% of tour cost, or US$ 10-30 per person for group tours).
